Finally, after months of trying to find the elbow room to have our car shocks fixed, we did it! DH is out today having it done. Yey!

I’m not a car geek and I have a limited understanding about anything that goes under the hood of a car much less a CTPL or 5th wheel insurance. I just ride and go. lol But I do have this weird thing where I know when the tire pressure on our tires aren’t the same. I sometimes can even tell whether it’s the left or right front/rear tires that aren’t right. When that happens I tell DH that we need air for our tires and true enough, the tire pressures aren’t equal. How does that happen? I don’t really know. I’m a human tire gauge, I guess. lol

Two months ago, our car was hit in front of our house. It appears that the guilty party was making a turn but somehow didn’t see our black Optra.  If it had a bright colored car cover, the probability of it being hit may have been lower.  What really irks me is that the perpetuator didn’t own up to his/her responsibility.

Our car was due to be back last Saturday, just as we were coming back from our vacation.  When DH called the shop last Friday, he was told that the door repair didn’t do well so they have to replace the doors.  The latest commitment is for Thursday.  Oh bummer! I just hope the new doors  look good.

Our family goes around in a 2006 Chevy Optra Wagon.  Purchased under a corporate car loan , the vehicle has run close to 40,000 km with no major breakdown (thank God!!!). This is inspite of DH’s not religiously following the maintaince schedule.   At times I stress the point that I also own the car and it is not his sole property .  I remind him (short of nagging) to have the car cleaned and check the tires.  I tell him that the airconditioner is  not as cold as before and that the air filter might need cleaning. ( According to a friend, air filter can affect the performance of the a/c compressor). I tell him that oil needs to replaced. Its quite frustrating!!!

Lately, however, he attended this church seminar on stewardship.  I’m beginning to see some seeds of change (fingers crossed).  The recent death of his computer appears to have made him appreciative of the value of his things.  On Wed, he’ll be bringing the car to the shop.  Yippee! Maybe I’ll see more things around the house given up for dead resurrected one day. Who knows?
