It’s true. I have found the one night cream that works for me. Yes, it is Olay - Olay Regenerist and NO, I am not a paid endorser. I wish I was. LOL I’m not into make up that much but I do want to have clear, clean skin. I have tried a lot of night creams out there and it does get tiring to be using so many products to address different needs. Right now, I’m a happy camper with this one. My sister gave this as a present when she came home last year and I was just happy to receive something from her. I didn’t use the product immediately because I don’t religiously put night creams on plus I didn’t want to use it all up because the next supply would come the next time she comes home again. I finally found out how good it was when I finally found a good enough reason to use it. I was supposed to attend an event and I had to, at least, not look like a raccoon because of the dark circles around my eyes that comes from sleeping late. I had to do something fast. And so I used it and I was actually quite surprised and happy with it. The cream didn’t feel heavy on my skin, it didn’t feel like it was clogging my pores, it was easily absorbed and wasn’t like grease sitting there. I had only like a few hours of sleep and yet it didn’t show. I was hooked! So now, I obligated my sister to be my lifetime supplier of Olay. Forever! hahaha

I’m a recent convert to the Apple Community after having been a PC user for years. I recently purchased an iMac for a project I took on and I must say it is worth the switch. Although I still want to be in the loop when it comes to anything PC, Steve Jobs and Apple have really captured a market that is intensely loyal to anything that has the Apple logo on it. Why? Because they listen to their market.
Apple’s product line is a result of innovation and effective customer relations. Before you can even ask, they’ve already thought about it and incorporated it into the product. That’s my opinion anyway. Hence, the slew of laptops, desktops, audio and video gadgets that make you salivate like a rabid dog and head for the nearest tech store for that much-awaited 50%-70% off sale. Take for example the iPhone. Even before it hit the market, it was probably sold out virtually already. Why? Apple doesn’t just sell you a music player or a phone or a netbook. You are purchasing a “lifestyle” - it’s all about the experience and how it fits into your life. Who can resist an app-filled gadget that helps you find your way thru a city, even if you’ve never been there before? or even find a place to stay and at the same time enables you to do so many other things aside from being a phone as well. Of course, “lifestyle” purchases don’t always come cheap. I don’t have an iPhone yet, but who knows? I’ll be on the lookout for the next big sale to enjoy that piece of “tech heaven”.

Well, for good reason actually so I’m not going to hang myself for it. So what’s the good reason? Real life gets in the way of virtual reality - hahaha.
First, it was exam week last week for my homeschooled son - he had an assessment exam for his grade level at the DECS accredited school where we enrolled him. Since we use a homeschool curriculum different from DECS, I had to drill him and review him on the topics that were part of the exam but not necessarily part of our curriculum. (I’ll probably write a post about what your child needs to know at a certain grade level in the future.) So that took up most of my week - I had to make sure that “papasa sya, este, kakasa sya sa Grade Three”. LOL
Trivia: Did you know that the DECS scope and sequence covers only 4 subjects for Grade Three? What are these subjects? English, Math, Science and Filipino
Next, since my kids started doing ballet twice a week, my schedule has become topsy- turvy. Why? because I lose two “virtual” days a week since I have to go with them to ballet school. Of course, ballet always wins hands down as far as I’m concerned. No contest! I will go with them wherever and whenever necessary! I am a self-confessed ballet addict! I wonder what will happen to my bloggie when they start doing everyday class in the summer? hmmmm…. aargh! I need a MBPro ASAP! Or maybe an Audemars Piguet designer watch on my wrist will do so I can I watch time slowly tick away while waiting for them in the hallway. Either way, I need to blog more so I can buy any of those two. LOL
Of course, I do all that aside from my own “rakets” online and IRL. The future is bright but it’s getting tighter and tighter as far as time constraints go. So much to do, so little time. I know, I know (sheepish grin :P ), I can hear it coming. It’s all about time management. I haven’t come to that place yet where my everyday life is like going to the office - you time in and you time out. Same thing, day in and day out. Life is more volatile with kids, you know - the sneezies, the dirty tights and leotards, the unpredictables and all that jazz. I’m trying though. I have a dream… (I’m not MLK, but I have a dream, too, you know).
Anyhoo, sa mga ka-LP ko, babawi na lang ako neks wik pag maliwanag na ang panahon. :) So that’s it, pansit! I might be able to squeeze a few more posts within the week and not be a “baaaad blogger”.
Adios, amigos! Hasta maniana! (spelled as pronounced - can’t find the enye right now hahaha)

Ballet is one of my all-time loves. I’m no longer in it as a dancer but it still is very much a part of what I do and who I am and I think I might have imparted this ‘addiction’ to my little girl. Of course like most little girls who love pink and purple, she loves anything and everything ballet. Hopefully, when the time is right we can be able to send her to a ballet school one of these days. Earlier this year, a friend of mine who owns her own ballet school and teaches in several schools as well had a despedida for one of her dancers - Sarah J. Lee. We sent her off to New York to audition for the top ballet schools in the Big Apple. She auditioned for NYCB, ABT and Joffrey Ballet and she passed them all but she settled for Joffrey Ballet School in the end because she was granted a full scholarship with them. We are so proud of her achievements.
Hopefully, when my little girl reaches Sarah’s age and she is still determined to pursue this path, dh and I would be able to uproot ourselves from wherever we are, transplant our whole family and get those New York movers to help us settle us somewhere in the City that doesn’t sleep for the sake of a little girl’s dream.

Sarah’s (kneeling, bottom row, right) piece for the NAMCYA competition last year was as Odette from Swan Lake.

Okay, more ballet stuff. I obviously love ballet and everything that has to do with it and I’ve been eyeing this little cutie for quite a while. Isn’t it adorable? All it needs is a gold chain to go around my neck …( hmmm, on second thought my little girl’s neck) and it would be the perfect gift I think any girl would love to receive. Would you believe this charm alone without the necklace costs £145.00 already? Oh, for the love of ballet, talaga. I wish I may, I wish I might, Have this wish… now na!

I give this oh so adorable little charm 4 Got tEys.T smacks:

Coffee break : How would you reward yourself after a long day at work?
I’m a part-time WAHM so my working hours start when everybody else goes to bed and there’s finally some peace and quiet in the house. I wish I could reward myself more often with a day at the spa or the salon but our skeds are so erratic, I just rely on hubby to bring me little treats. Puede na ang turon at sago sa ‘kin. lol What’s really nice is that hubby is studying how to do different kinds of massages (he hangs out a lot and reads these books at Fully Booked) and I get to be the guinea pig. So I have an in-house masseur at my beck and call.
If I can’t have that regularly, what I really look forward to is the chance to tag along with hubby when he has out-of-town trips or events na puede ang 3 sabit. The chance to go outdoors and bring out the camera for some serious photo shooting - that’s a real treat for me. The spa and the salon can hang, I’d rather pack our backpacks and go anywhere, anytime.
p.s. if ever he reads this, I wish he’d buy me Proactiv sana - (the best acne treatment out there IMHO) not because I have acne but I do have oily skin and the whole kit makes skin maintenance really easy. Mine is all gone and that would be a nice treat, sana. (hint hint)

…. this one would really be. Hubby and I have been drooling over this Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Chronograph. Hubby chose this over all the other luxury watches we were looking at and when we took a closer look at the product description I was surprised that this was the watch Olympians Michael Phelps and Ian Thorpe advertised. Hmmm, seems that hubby’s got a good eye for these boy blings LOL. He’s got tEys.t! Check out the specs at watchesandbeyond.com. Awesome! Of course the price is quite wallet-busting awesome too. lol Libre naman mangarap, di ba? :)
I give this beauty 4 “GOT tEys.T” smacks.

I can’t believe it! School will be here in just two weeks and we haven’t gone to any beach yet plus the fact that it has been quite rainy throughout the month. Hubby says it’s because of the La Nina. Hopefully, before school starts we can still bring out the kids’ swimsuits and take them swimming somewhere. I wish we could go back to La Luz in Batangas. I didn’t have the chance to explore the place the last time we were there. Here’s a pic I took while we were there a year ago. Isn’t it inviting?

I am definitely thankful to God for the internet. Truly I am. A little over five years ago I lived in our house in far flung Trece Martirez with absolutely no telephone line, no cable TV, no internet at all and with a cell signal so poor it almost always disappears whenever there’s a downpour. Most of my friends ask me how I survived all that. Come to think of it, I would say it was just really grace for the hour. When I felt that I could no longer imagine another 5 more hermit years I pestered (shhh…) hubby to look for another place for us even if we had to rent.
And so here we are in breezy Sta. Rosa, the best place outside Greater Manila to be in my opinion, of course. I have everything an incommunicado could ever want, we have a landline to talk to family, cell signal to text my friends, accessibility to basic needs like gasul would you believe, rare blackouts and no more unwanted candlelit dinners and most of all cable internet! A far cry from my bartolina days… I am content (ha ha). What more could a girl ask for? (well how about 500 gig HD and 8gig ram :) lol) Now I can do everything in the comfort of my monobloc chair!
Remember that cliche, the whole world right at your fingertips? That’s exactly what I have. I can be anywhere in the world faster than a speeding bullet (oops, pardon me dial-uppers, no offense please :) lol), do tons of research without breaking my back with library books, telecommute in my official flipflops and yes Virginia, I don’t have to ride a tricycle 9 kilometers away to pay the electric bills etc anymore. Bring it ON- line, that’s what I say.
Who would’ve thought that you could even get an auto loan with a financing scheme tailored just for you and finally buy that dream car of yours while in your jammies? Speaking of auto loan, that reminds me its almost that time of the month for us to settle ours. I need to go check our payables right now, I don’t want to have a bad credit car loan record, you know. So I’m going to check on that in the next tab (get it? lol) Meanwhile, I leave you with this absolutely gorgeous beetle that I’m wishing for. Isn’t she cute? If you’re a Beetle junkie like me and you want one of these badly, check out getthebestautoloan.com. It might fast track you straight into the driver’s seat. Have fun drooling!

… and it’s not from blogging. LOL It’s because of our ratty, 8-year old mattress. I’ve been bugging hubby for the last two years that I wanted to throw away that mattress forever because I always wake up in the morning feeling more tired than rested. My lower back is always painful and my shoulder blades feel sore in the morning. I feel like an old lady! We actually did an experiment a couple of days ago to prove my point. After waking up achy all over the other day, I told him that I was going to sleep in my dad’s bed to see if it was actually the foam mattress that was the problem or it was just me. So I did. Guess what, I woke up rested and not grumpy at all. I am so convinced that if we do buy a new bed and a luxurious mattress (someday?) I’m going to invest on a really good one, the kind that you find in fancy hotels with the Egyptian cotton sheets and those whatever-pedic kind of pillows that cradle your head so that your spine is aligned or something. That would be totally dreamy…. (sigh).

… I’m going to be practicing my photography skills on the dancers and I so wish I could bring my PC with me so I can see the results immediately. I took some pics of my kids at the SM Science Discovery Center last week and they looked fine in the viewfinder until I downloaded them to my computer. There were some nice shots but some that looked fine turned out blurry. I don’t want that to happen since most of the shots I want to take will be motion shots. Having one of those multimedia, mega mega gig HD/RAM laptop computers, with tablet functionalities and built in everything and of course a long battery life is definitely a must for me for these on the go stints. I do hope I can get one before the year ends.

and a getaway place as well. Actually, I’m really not a coffee drinker but Jan, one of my bloggie friends, has been hosting a coffee break post every Mondays. This week’s post has me stumped. I’ve been pressed to finish a lot of last minute stuff at home, like my son’s final homeschool evaluation exams, changes in our Kumon schedules, a few design jobs for a friend, plus my mom and my sister are coming home from abroad for a visit etc. etc., I couldn’t squeeze my brain to remember the answer to her question. Actually, it’s been such a long time ago (isn’t that a revelation LOL) and my brain needs a little push (or maybe a shove) just to recall such details. Brain caffeine alert! Maybe, it’s that coffee break post that’s waking up my nerves telling me I need to pack my bags and go on vacation somewhere… anywhere! Maybe I’ll check out the Hilton Head rentals and ask my sister if she would like to go there after her visit here. I’ll tell her to pack me up in her suitcase as well… lol.
