Ito ay isa sa pintuan papalabas sa tarmac ng Legazpi Airport sa Albay . Ito ay nakasarado at walang pasaherong makalabas sapagkat ang aming Cebu Pacific flight papuntang Maynila ay nadelay dahil sa masamang panahon. Kami ay naipit sa paliparan ng mahigit sa dalawa o tatlong oras yata sa kasagsagan ng promo ng Cebu Pacific na sila ang airline na “always on time”. Kamuntik na talaga kaming hindi makauwi ng di oras sapagkat pinahinto ang mga eroplanong papalabas ng Maynila. Akala ko ay magiging preso na kami sa airport. Habang naghihintay ay pinagpiyestahang kong kunan na lang ang Mayon na natatabunan ng ulap. Mabuti na lamang at mayroong eroplanong dumating at pinayagang magbiyahe pabalik ng Maynila. Hay salamat! Nakauwi din kaming mag-anak. Baka kung hindi ay gayahin ko si Bonifacio at maglabas na ako ng itak para punitin ang aking sedula, este tiket pala.

My kids were arguing with each other about some ridiculous nitpicky thing at breakfast today and it was getting out of hand. I sort of blew my fuse and put my foot down. I told them they had to write down 100 things to be grateful for and 100 things they were not happy about. Halfway into it, my son told me that one whole sheet of paper was not enough to fit all that. He had written the things he was grateful for on one side and on the other, the ones he was not.
I thought it was a perfect teachable moment for him to choose how to view life. We all have our daily struggles in life, the weight of which depends relatively on how we see them. This is not to say that our struggles are negligible and the pain is not valid. I would surmise to think that it depends on how you see the big picture.
At this point, I told my son that this was what I wanted him to know. I told him that he could view life either half-empty and look at all the bad things, or he could also look at life half-full, where life is full of possibilities and hope. Even before I could finish my point he said it was just like being Squidward. I said yes. By this time he had already written down so many things to be grateful for and the argument at breakfast was a thing of the past. He had gone off to play with his sister again. Intermittently, they come back hugging me, giving me little “I love you, mom” notes and scribbles seemingly content with their little lives.

The tragedy is increasing as we follow the events that are ongoing in Iran today. This video is heartbreaking to watch… My heart goes out to her family and relatives. We know an Iranian friend who has since left the country before all this began. This person wanted to stay for noble reasons but because of circumstances concerning safety and security, the family had to leave. We had been praying for this family and God saw them through. It makes me ponder the goodness of God upon them and how He spared them from all this. But what about the rest who are living in the country? We will continue to pray for them and may the will of God prevail upon their nation.

Bawat linggo ng LP na hindi ako nakakalahok naitatanong ko sa aking sarili kung imposible ba ito. LOL Salamat na lamang at ang aking mga proyekto ay tapos na at puede na ako ulit sumali ng mas madalas. Sa wakas eto na ang aking lahok para sa linggong ito sa temang:

Nakalulungkot isipin at nakapanghihinayang talaga na ganito ang nangyayari sa ating kapaligiran. Napakayaman ng ating bansa kung yamang kalikasan din lang ang pag-uusapan subalit napakapobre ng ating mentalidad pagdating sa pangangalaga nito. Lahat ng ito ay kagagawan ng ISA. Isang supot, isang balot ng kendi, isang patpat ng pisbol, isang walang pakialam na tao. Pagsamasamahin natin ang bawat ISA na iyon, ganito ang ating kahahantungan.
Kawawa naman ang susunod na henerasyon. Baka manahin na lang nila ang isang buong dagat ng basura at kakarampot na tubig. Imposible ba itong bigyan ng solusyon? Palagay ko hindi. ISA lang naman ang kailangan di ba? Isang bata. Isang matanda. Isang mayaman. Isang mahirap. Isang may pinag-aralan. Isang mangmang. ISAng taong may pagmamahal at pagmamalasakit para sa ating bayan na ibubulsa ang maliit na basura at itatapon sa tamang basurahan. Alam ko ikaw yun kaibigan.
This is sort of a late post but I just want to post it anyway. I don’t get to post my layouts in the galleries that much nowadays only if I have a few minutes to browse around. I posted this layout in my Catscrap gallery and I was surprised to know that Kate Hadfield left a comment that it was chosen to be featured in the Gallery Standouts blog. I was thrilled! GSO is one of my favorite go-to sites whenever I need a little inspiration fix and I’m well… for lack of a more eloquent word, I’m just plain happy! I took this photo at The Fort with my trusted Oly a couple of years ago. The lighting wasn’t that good during that time but thank God for digital cams and my 2gig compact flash memory, right? Unlimited deletes hahaha.
Here’s something that you might want to check out. Filipino Drummer and College of St. Benilde Scholar, Michael Gemina, is on his way to Berklee this summer. He recently got his U.S. Visa approved and is inviting everyone out there to be a fan on his website – michaelgemina.com. He is a part of the band Private Publiko and they will be launching their album pretty soon so watch out for that as well. Here’s a little something I did in support of Michael because I believe that this kid is going places. I didn’t notice the hour, but I think it’s way past my bedtime, folks. Sleep is still the best all natural acne treatment for me. I’ll catch you all later coz I don’t want my face to be zit filled in the next few days. LOL
I’m a recent convert to the Apple Community after having been a PC user for years. I recently purchased an iMac for a project I took on and I must say it is worth the switch. Although I still want to be in the loop when it comes to anything PC, Steve Jobs and Apple have really captured a market that is intensely loyal to anything that has the Apple logo on it. Why? Because they listen to their market.
Apple’s product line is a result of innovation and effective customer relations. Before you can even ask, they’ve already thought about it and incorporated it into the product. That’s my opinion anyway. Hence, the slew of laptops, desktops, audio and video gadgets that make you salivate like a rabid dog and head for the nearest tech store for that much-awaited 50%-70% off sale. Take for example the iPhone. Even before it hit the market, it was probably sold out virtually already. Why? Apple doesn’t just sell you a music player or a phone or a netbook. You are purchasing a “lifestyle” – it’s all about the experience and how it fits into your life. Who can resist an app-filled gadget that helps you find your way thru a city, even if you’ve never been there before? or even find a place to stay and at the same time enables you to do so many other things aside from being a phone as well. Of course, “lifestyle” purchases don’t always come cheap. I don’t have an iPhone yet, but who knows? I’ll be on the lookout for the next big sale to enjoy that piece of “tech heaven”.
