I’ve been offline most of the day today, cleaning up the old desktop, scanning and defragging cause I think I got infected with something from hubby’s usb. grrr! Anyway, I just checked MM’s Idea Gallery and this just made my day. sigh! Another LO featured in the gallery! Different layouts are featured every day at Memory Makers and seeing this one at this time after stressing over the ‘puter is a sight for (literally) sore eyes. So here’s a snapshot of the layout as seen in MM :

and here’s a link to see it up close:

I think I’m going take a break from the computer to watch something else. I’m tired watching the defrag screen so maybe I’ll watch a bit of the Olympics. I wonder when the equestrienne competition will be shown? Actually, I just love the equestrian clothing part. Reminds me of Elizabeth Taylor in National Velvet. So I’ll check in later while you check out my layout. :D
Ciao!

Yey! Just want to share a little toot today. It’s like a much needed shot in the arm ’cause ds was confined in the hospital for possible viral gastro and I am a little bit off tangent because of it. But God is good because sudden rainshowers always have rainbows somehow. This is my little rainbow for today.
Katie Hilbert of Memory Makers Magazine sent me an email a while back asking if she could feature my LO in the Idea Gallery. Of course, li’l ole me won’t say no, right? If you’d like to check it out click here to take you to Memory Makers online mag and check out my LO. Would like to know what you think too.
Psst, by the way. I have another little surprise (not sooo little to me) coming out in October 2008. If any of you can guess what it is, I just might give you a little surprise as well. So check back here often to find out what it is. Later y’all. Have to go to the hospital in a bit. Say a little prayer for my ds too, will ya? Thanks!

I’ve been sorta making my own little tradition to celebrate my dad (he went home to the Lord almost a year ago) every chance I get. He was a generous man and gave without expecting anything in return. So I’d like to continue that generous spirit he imparted to me and give what I can every occasion that reminds me of him. I still miss him so much and think of him everyday. I do know that I can take this pain and turn it into something good to bless someone else.
So here’s an early Father’s Day gift from me to you to celebrate and honor all the dads out there. (My freebies are forever free for you to enjoy no strings attached. Just enjoy!) Happy Father’s Day y’all!

It’s been a while since my last little freebie and since its NSD all over the scrapping world, I thought I might join in the fun and give away a little something as well. It’s my first attempt at a template so be kind. I did a scraplift of a layout by Diane called Tea Party and added a little twist to it. Then I turned it into a template to share with you all.
So here’s my layout “Peek A Who?” and then you’ll find the link a little further down to the freebie.
Happy National Scrapbooking Day everyone!

It’s my scrappy Saturday today (depending on what time zone you are in) and since it’s Easter tomorrow I have a little sumpin’ for you digiscrappers out there. I love diaries. I love journals and I love writing. I’ve been journaling for years now and I got into scrapbooking around 1998-99 when I got married. I didn’t have a lot of pictures of myself growing up and the few that I had were starting to fade already. Yup it’s sad and I didn’t want my family most especially my kids to grow up with nothing to look back to as well. My solution - journaling with pictures. In short, scrapbooking!
I first learned about scrapbooking when we lived in AZ. I was into decorative painting back then and I stumbled upon it. I’ve been hooked ever since. Addiction is a mild term to describe my relationship with it. Every weekend, my husband would drop me off at the local craft store and I would spend the whole afternoon going thru each aisle in search of that perfect paper or embellishment. If I skipped an aisle, I had to go back and check it out again. I’d clip coupons and wait for dollar days just to get a good deal on scrap supplies. They didn’t have TIVO then but I would make sure I got to watch all the craft shows just to see if they had something on scrapbooking. Talk about needing an addiction treatment!
I started out as a traditional paper scrapper, switched to digiscrapping and now I’m thinking of trying to incorporate both by doing hybrid. Now for the fun part, I have a little giftie for you digiscrappers out there for Easter. It’s not much though but it’s my first freebie ever so be kind. Just visit my scrap blog right here to get this.
Happy Easter everyone!

Today has been bittersweet.
Early this morning I got a text from my brother informing me that after how many months of trying to do all the paperwork and legwork regarding my dad’s passing… in the midst of all the heartache and tears… my dad’s papers have finally been settled.
It was as if it just happened yesterday. All of a sudden… the pain… the tears… the loss came flooding back. It made my heart heavy all throughout the day.
Yet through it all God has been good. I found a wonderful surprise in my mailbox this evening. Something totally unexpected.
I received an email from Ms. Angie Pedersen (her surname almost sounds like my dad’s surname-Pedrosa ) saying this:
Hi Teys, Congratulations! For your participation in the Digital Scrapbooking day challenges, you won one of the GRAND PRIZES - one of each size photo book printed Shutterfly!
(read about it here: http://susanwhite.typepad.com/digital_scrapbooking_day )I think I also won a Tinkering Ink Digital CD Kit in the process.
I couldn’t believe it! I had to read the email over and over to let it really sink in. I had not been doing a lot of layouts lately nor have been posting in any galleries since my father’s passing because I didn’t have the heart to do it. I’ve been in major lurk mode since then and I just regularly updated myself with the diginews from DST.
From there, I found the DSD blog which had this challenge about scanned memorabilia. I had just happened to have one already made sitting in my hard drive. So I joined just to share.
I had made this one layout about my dad a while back which I had wanted to give to my kids. It contained some of their artwork they gave him, their baby pictures and mine, an old letter that he had written to me long ago, an old birthday letter I had given him when I was still in elementary which was all torn up already which I found in his wallet, and miscellaneous memorabilia he owned. I also included a letter I wrote to my kids telling them about their “lolo” and how much he meant to me.
Most important of all, I found a quote in one of his diaries that represented everything he lived and died for. I wanted them to know that this was the kind of man their grandfather was.
Thank you DSD for choosing my layout. You have made it even more special and more meaningful than it already is.
Here it is once again. You can also view it in my flicker account :http://www.flickr.com/photos/teys/1583799141/in/set-72157602447692711#preview
