Rean here…

Tes and I recently witnessed a unique event.  Our friend regular holds a white elephant exchange.  Participants bring their white elephant items and pool them together.  They then go through the different items and identify things from other participants they like.  Playing cards are dealt each card determining how many items they can get. A joker gets 5 items, an ace gets 2 while a king/queen or jack gets 1.  Participants can also get items previously taken by others.  Whatever you have when all cards are dealt will be yours. A hot item was a ring our Latvian friend brought.  It was going back and forth between players.  Eventually, a very close friend got it.  With such a white elephant,  someone should get an elephant ring holder for her ; )

The weather has been odd in the last few weeks.  Dec/Jan usually is the start of the dry season in the Philippines. However, rain boots have become a necessity recently.    We have literally experienced scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.  It reminded me of the unpredictable weather I experienced a few years ago in Ireland.  Just wondering if this is Climate Change becoming much more real.

When one gets tired of lifting things up and down, it’s time to use the biggest “muscle” of all: YOUR BRAIN!  When you can’t lift your bed, take it apart and reassemble it in your new home.  This way, I minimized scratching the new paint on the stair case.   It also exercised my skills in mechanical work and carpentry.   By taking this approach work didn’t stop.  I guess the best fat burner is working smartly.

One doesn’t realize how heavy a box is until he/she begins moving it up or down a staircase.  The exercise forces one to use abdominals, quadriceps and spinal erectors.  At one point, my shoulder muscles were so sore but I had to keep on going so as not to drop the box.  The elevated muscular activity turned different parts of my body into efficient fat burners in minutes.

The stress of moving house has been real for me in the last few days.  Dismantling and reassembling big furniture.  Lifting boxes…boxes…more boxes really taxed my body.    I’d find myself dozing off while sitting in a chair. At times, I would even fall asleep while teaching ballet!  The bodily demands for such a logistical operation beat taking acetyl-l-carnitine with respect to increasing metabolism.
